Facebook Facing Daily 250K Euro Cookie Fines
Yesterday (10th November) a Belgian court ordered Facebook to stop tracking some non-members across the web. The social media giant was given 2 days to comply, or be issued fines of 250,000 euros per day.
Dutch Cookie Law Fine is Largest So Far
The Dutch public broadcaster NPO has been handed a fine of 25,000 Euros this week for failing to put in place an adequate consent mechanism for the use of cookies.
Spanish Cookie Law Fines First in EU
The first fines specifically for cookie law compliance failures have been handed out by the Spanish Data Protection Authority. They were handed out to two companies running a number of jewellery websites, one of which was an online store.
